Tuesday Feb 21 • Gr. PreK-1Camp Theme • Lunar New Year • In the morning, campers will walk to a nearby park for outdoor recreation (weather permitting). After lunch they will join PS 3 ’til 6 Instructor Lu Chihlan to celebrate Chinese New Year — the Year of the Water Rabbit – with storytelling, traditional arts and crafts, the ribbon dance, and more!
Tuesday Feb 21 • Gr. K-5Field Trip • Brooklyn Children’s Museum (Chartered School Bus) • Our group will travel to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum to attend the Black Future Festival, where children get to explore interactive dance performances, storytelling, genealogy workshops, art-making in the ColorLab Studio, and more. Fun for all ages!

Wednesday Feb 22 • Gr. PreK-1Camp Theme • Super Heroes • In the morning, campers walk to a local park for outdoor recreation (weather permitting). The rest of our day will be busy with super-hero themed arts & crafts, soccer, fantasy games, and other fun activities.
Wednesday Feb 22 • Gr. 2-5Field Trip • Museum of Modern Art (Subway) • Campers travel to MoMA to visit the Guillermo del Toro: Crafting Pinocchio exhibit. Children will experience what it’s like to be on a movie set and see first-hand how this 2022 stop-motion animated film was created. The exhibition includes production art and props showcasing the various phases of puppet-making. This tour will be guided by Tati, the resident artist and filmmaker leading our popular Cartooning & Animation workshops. When students return to PS 3 they will have their own 3-D model creation session!

Thursday Feb 23 • Gr. PreK-1Camp Theme • Puppet World • In the morning, campers walk to a local park for outdoor recreation (weather permitting). After lunch they explore the art of puppet-making with arts & crafts, theater games, and other fun activities.
Thursday Feb 23 • Gr. K-5Field Trip • Museum of the Moving Image (Chartered School Bus) • Our group travels to MoMI in Queens where we will explore the Jim Henson Exhibit. Campers will get a ‘behind the scenes’ peek at how Henson’s muppets were brought to life, and see many of puppets used in Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. The visit also includes a special workshop where children get to create their own character and try their hand at puppeteering. Imagination a must!

Friday Feb 24 • Gr. PreK-1Camp Theme • Carnival Fun • In the morning, our group will walk over to the Hudson Park Library for a special story-telling session with neighborhood children’s librarian, Kristy.  After lunch, it’s time for Carnival fun with crafts, face-painting, games and other themed activities.
Friday Feb 24 • Gr. 2-5Field Trip • Chelsea Piers Bowlero (Subway/Walk) • Who doesn’t love Bowling? In the morning campers get to bowl a couple rounds and try their hand at Bowlero’s arcade! After lunch, it’s time for Carnival fun at PS 3 with crafts, face-painting, games and other themed activities!
